Final Version of - Colour See No Evil/Hear No Evil/ Speak No Evil

After doing a practice run which you can see in the previous post I decided to do better research to find significant colours towards the topic EVIL. I found a website which shows the meanings of different colours around the world. The 3 colours I decided to use is red, black and yellow.

To see the full article of cultural colour theory press here:

For each picture I used the tool magnetic lasso to select the hands. I then copied the selected part of the picture and pasted it onto a new layer. This is so I could neaten up the edges with the eraser tool. I then changed the hue/saturation to make the colour vibrant red. I really like the fact that you can see the features of the hands which makes the image look more real.

This is the improved version of 'Speak No Evil' I prefer this picture because there is no evident cut lines. The viewer can still see the features of the hands in a more natural context.

I like the contrast of the brighter colour yellow in this version. Some tonality could be improved.

I found this version difficult to do because of the lack of contrast. However I feel this is improvement over the earlier version because the features of the model's hands are clearly shown and cut lines are minimised.
